The Magician Moth

The Magician Moth is inspired on the White Ermine Moth.
I’ve painted it with acrylic paint with a top layer of oil paint on carefully prepared vintage paper from a book about prayer rugs.
This one is a Persian prayer rug with the design of the tree of life.

The paper is glued on a prepared wooden panel.
The antennae of the moth are real 24K gold.
It’s varnished with a semi-gloss varnish.


Privet Hawk Moth

The privet hawk moth is painted with acrylic paint.
I’ve painted it on, carefully prepared, paper from a vintage book (1948) about the theatre. The language that it is written in, is Slovenian.
The paper is glued on a prepared wooden panel.
With a final layer of semi-gloss varnish.


Book Fairy Moth

The Book Fairy Moth is fond of books and lives in most old libraries.
I’ve painted it on a original page from a vintage book (1948) about the theatre. It’s written in Slovenian language.

The first few layers of paint are acrylics. The final layer is painted with oil paint. The paper is carefully glued on a prepared wooden panel.

The antennae are real 24K gold.
It’s varnished with semi-gloss varnish.
On the back of the painting is a little hook for hanging.
